IM UPLOADIN MAH DRAFFFS

so i've realised i've gotta a ton load of drafts that need to published, so im just gonna do one big mega post to summarize them

24 Hours of Nurburgring [this was to be apart of my epic race weekend series i started a year ago]

Now the name alone shows how hard this race is: 24hrs of racing is long even if your rotating 4 drivers. I find that endurance races such as this test the driver's abality to maintain focus long enough to drive that long that fast and also the cars ability to withstand 24hrs straight of racing. The second part of the name is another sign of difficulty......the nurburgring is difficult cus:
  • its long [ 7-5 times longer than most tracks] @ 14 miles.
  • its bumpy [as in real world bumpy not some super perfect smooth track
  • it has every single corner you can imagine [banked corners, pavement changes, long straight, sweeping right handers into tight lefts, bridges, jumps, corkscrew like corners etc etc]
  • its dangerous [3-12 deaths per year, mainly by noobs visiting the track]

[the track is so big it cant fit on this page]

Braeks [supposed to be a part of my lecture series on cars]

I've long considered brakes one of the most important components of a car.........in fact the name crossdrilled is derived from a type of brake rotor

but to simplify this brakes are any form of mechanism that decelerates the car usually by friction

on vehicles there are only two main types of brakes; drums and disks

they both have a pad which push against a rotating surface attached to the wheel. this pushing causes friction which slows down the wheel. drums have the rotating part on the outside and the pushing part on the inside where as disks have the pushing part resting on the rotating part

Disks

Drums

You can haz ur caeks 2.5 [a continuation of my performance eco cars]

Ariel Atom

some ppl might remember the face blistering speed achieved by this car on top gear but not a lot of ppl knows its deepest secret...........its 30mpg consumption!!! thats like a caterham with moar miles per gallon......jus a tad more expensive tho

Audi R8 V12 TDi

We are still waiting for the guys in ingolstad to build this. Take the engine out of a Le Mans car [the first and only diesel winner] and tune it for the road and u have instant diesel supercar. Some may say that this is stupid because of its excess weight........but its still lighter than a lot of other gasoline sports cars.........audis only excuse not to build this is to find a transmission that wont break.............i'll be wiatin

Best Race Weekend EVAR pt2

Monaco

Now this is the most epic F1 race EVAR!!!!!! the only way it can get more epic is if F1 returns to the Nordschlieffe Nurburgring Loop [which will never happen]

This is one of if not the oldest F1 track and what makes it even more epic is that it isnt a track.

Now Monaco is the smallest country in the world [like smaller than kingston small] so instead of building a race track they close of the roads because its so small and narrow it is difficult to overtake and easy to crash

[another pic too big to post]

because of this usually if you start off first you finsih first

last year's winner Lewis Hamilton came dead last in qualifying due to a penalty he had to serve for changing transmissions due to a crash so he was out of the race for points

so who was up the front? In qualifying it looked like it was going to be a comback for Kimi and Ferrari who were before this scraping for points. neways this years leaders Brawn and Button took the pole from Kimi by a little bit of time

So just like any other race this year Brawn dominated by getting one hell of a holeshot and they disappeared into the distance in fact they dominated so heavily i forgot who came 3rd

anyways monaco went well altho it didnt rain :( neways the only other interesting F1 race will be at Singapore cus its like Monaco just in the night

[yes i very well watched monaco]

more monaco stuff here

Greatest Race Weekend EVAR!!!!! from Monaco to Dover pt1

Yes as all car heads should no that May is the month of all the big races [except for 24 hrs of Le Mans which is in June and Dakar Rally which is in January] But May is still epic cause in this one month there are more epic races than you can watch.

1) Formula 1 - Spanish GP & Monaco GP
2) NASCAR - Coca Cola 600 & NASCAR Sprint All Star Race
3) IRL - Indy 500 & Milwaukee Mile
4) Local - Caribbean Curcuit Racing Championships Starting Race @ Dover
4)Other - 24 Hours of Nurburgring

The highlighted events all appeared on the same weekend from the 21st - 25th and I had the tough choice of deciding which to watch [well NASCAR was put of the question]

Lets start with IRL

The big news was Helio Castroneves [former 500 winner, winner of dancing with the stars and also born on my birthday which is also in May] was in a huge scandal involving tax evasion, he was eventually acquitted of all charges and made a huge come back by winning his first race of the season [i think if he didnt win he placed high] neways this year at the indy 500 he essentially won [disclaimer i didnt watch this race]

Colors of Racing again

Great Britain [mainly england tho] - British Racing Green
available on almost every british car out used currently by aston martin this is sometimes accompanied by a yellow stripe

Japan - White with red circle
only used by honda if my memory serves me correct but toyota continues to use a red and white paint scheme

France - Blue
used by bugatti in the past and up to 07 or 08 renault was using it in f1

The Colors of Racing

ok in the 100++ years of racing there has been a various set of systems set up to differentiate teams.

the longest lasting one is the color system now i shall only cover 2 specific color areas

A) National Colors

back in the good ole days when the FIA was actually run by ppl and not banks the idea was that each country would have a specific color.....this is not necessary today but it is still kept by most teams

1) Italy - Rosso Corsa
still used by Ferrai in both race cars and road cars

Germany - Silver Arrows or unpainted metal
still used by almost all german companies specifically by mercedes benz sometimes mentioned as nurburgring silver

Germany part 2 - Alpineweiss or white
not so common for race cars but quite common in sports cars
still used by bmw and porsche

until the next post.........brb

Aston Martin V-12 Vantage

Aston Martin unveiled the production version of its most potent and focused car at Geneva. This new car combines the V-8 Vantage's compact 2-seat dimensions with the power of the company's 5.9-liter V-12—to the tune of 510 bhp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. Aston is predicting a 190 mph top speed, along with 0–62 mph (100 km/h) dispatched in a scant 4.2 seconds.
Although the V-12 engine weighs 220 lb. more than the standard car's V-8, carbon-ceramic brakes, lighter forged aluminium wheels, lightweight inner rear quarter panels and optional lightweight seats have resulted in the overall curb weight that's only 110 lb. heavier than its V-8 sibling's. And the weight distribution is near perfect, at 51/49 front/rear.

"More" has to be taken with a pinch of salt, as Aston only expects to build 300–500 examples a year at its Gaydon factory. Deliveries will begin this fall.

In A meanwhile,Aston Martin will return to the Nurburgring for the fourth year in a row to compete in the 24-hour endurance race. This year the new V12 Vantage will be joining the yellow V8 Vantage - nicknamed 'Rose' - on the grid.

The ADAC Nurburgring 24-hour race attracts a variety of entrants from factory backed teams (including Aston Martin, VW and Audi) to private entries in anything from Porsche 911 GT3s and BMW M3 GTS to more modest machinery. The strangest entry in last year's race was probably the Opel Astra Caravan, which finished ahead of a Lamborghini Gallardo!

This year Aston Martin will enter a V12 Vantage, driven by Chief Executive Dr Ulrich Bez along with members of Aston's engineering team. The car is described as being 'near standard specification', which means about 510bhp from a 6.0-litre V12. Changes include reduced weight, which necessitates re-tuned suspension and Pirelli has provided slick tyres for the race.

COMPLETE

After 24 hrs [8-9hrs gt4 time] 400laps [exactly] 50 pitstops i have won 1.2 million [gran turismo] dollars!!!! and i now own an audi r8 [lm model of course] won 3 laps ahead of 2nd place and 29 laps ahead of last place [go me]

unfortunately there is one more 24 hr race [3 in total] the last one being the same le mans track without the chicanes [aka 4 miles of straightaway]

24 Hours of Le Mans GT4 style!!!!!

To kick start my summer I decided to finish off GT4 once and for all one of those challenges included the 24 hours of Le Mans so far I have completed 200 laps in 12hrs gt4 time [4-
5hrs real time] so i'm at the half way point and I am 1.5 laps ahead of an Audi R8 [the LM racer] and 3 laps ahead of everyone else [15 laps ahead of last place] victory is imminent, patience is key

o ya my vehicle of choice is a 91 Mazda 787B, winner of the 1991 24 hours of le mans as well as the first and only japanese car to win it [also the first and only rotary engined car to win it] being GT4 of course mine is tuned to about 900hp+ [200hp above stock]

YES I CAN HAVE MY CAKE AND EAT IT TOO!!!! [moar green supercars]

to continue my useless blabber of green supercars..............

Koenigsegg CCXR

So why is the worlds third fastes production car on this
list......cus it runs on biofuel. The E100 mixture [yes E100 not our pisswater E10] adds a whopping 200hp to the already potent car wringing it up to 1018hp!!!!! Now biofuel itself is only a green illusion as those who know exactly what biofuel is will tell, but who can blame koenigsegg for wanting more hp and at the same time getting a nod from the green authority

Tesla Roadster/Dodge Circuit

Now aparently someone had the brilliant idea at Tesla to use the already fuel efficient and fun to drive Lotus Elise and then put in an electric motor.....................BRILLIANT........now the Tesla boasts 0-60 and 1/4mile times that humiliate a base model elise as well as getting the gasoline equivalent of 120MPG!!! Now Dodge in its desperate need for smtn green did the exact same thing except they used the slightly larger Lotus Europa and didn't bother to change the body but still put in the electric motor. If the future of electric cars look like these then the future is bright even though they suffer from handling issues over their gasoline counterparts as well as having a steep price tag

Caterham 7

Seeing that these are essentially Lotus' from the past lightweight is key to these little toys efficiency numbers.....but even more impressive is the claims of 3 second 0-60 times and still returning 20 smtn mpg. Caterham have even gone as far as building a model capable of 131mpg granted its very unrealistic and super slow but it does give caterham owners hope

Best Green Sport Cars

why............cus the environmentalists are killing our 1200hp at the wheels and 7 stage turbos

so here is my list of cars that save the world

Chevrolet Corvette

ranging from 400hp-600hp the corvette isnt slow but its best feature is that is the most powerful car exempted from the US's gas guzzler tax [Z06 model which is pictured] @ 500hp. The key to this is its very aerodynamic shape, very light weight and its skip shift system which ensures under normal driving shifts are done via the
most efficient gears [2nd and 3rd gears are skipped out] this all comes together to achieve an amazing 30mpg highway in the 400hp model!!!

Lotus Exige/Elise

now the normal elise/exige offers ferrari beating performance for a 1/4 of the price. it does this via shrinking everything. according
to lotus if u cut the weight in half u dont need a big engine now because of this minimalist formula this lotus can also take up a 30mpg badge of honour but what about the concepts
lotus are working on like the 270E tri fuel concept which has 30hp more and is able to run on gas, ethanol or methanol equalling to 3.8s 0-60 times. and there's also the eco elise [pictured] which is 100% recyclable, the body is made from hemp, the seats from wool and it has a solar panel on the roof this all makes it 40lbs lighter than the base elise with no engine change whatsoever so the usual performance is still there

Formula 1 Cars

yes as of 2009 F1 cars are the fastest hybrids in the world [the term hybrid is argueable] but essentially the KERS system [kinetic energy recovery system] which is used in vehicles like the prius, takes wasted energy during braking and stores it in batteries then can be used as a hp adder no 30mpg here tho more like 3

to be continued.........................

hotspot SEARCHIN!!!!!!!!

ok i dunno but it I find it fun to jus drive around kingston F5ing the wireless to find as much wireless hotspots as possible, there's quite a lot.............yup i really underestimated how much ppl runnin wireless

so far I found
  • one by the total in mona, strongest right by the air pump
  • JC had one
  • there were a couple along hope road that i just forgot their names

Under Construction Phase V
